Dental implants
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone, and once the bone has healed around it, a crown is fixed on top.
Good for
- A single missing tooth, without trimming the teeth beside it
- Several missing teeth, as the base for a fixed bridge
- Loose dentures that need a firmer hold
Good to know
The doctor first checks your gums and jawbone, usually with an X-ray, and explains each step and the timeline before treatment begins.
